“Fire Guard,” (an alternative to relining), is a method to repair missing, defective or deteriorated mortar joints between the flue tiles.
Gas fireplace inserts - installing and servicing
Troubleshoot problems and repair existing gas inserts as well as installation of new gas insert systems.
Gas logs - installing and servicing
Sales, installation and servicing of decorative gas logs. Re-position the logs and gas sniff valve to ensure no gas leakage.
Damper stop installations
Installation of damper stops as required for gas logs.
Masonry firebox repairs
Rebuild, repair and patch backwall of firebox.
Inspections - Level I, II, and III
Perform each level of inspection as needed.
Chimney Evaluations and inspections
Perform thorough inspections of fireplace and chimney systems. Video and camera inspections can also be done as required in real estate transactions at an extra charge.
Chimney video inspections
Video camera primarily used in Level II inspections as part of real estate transactions per NFPA 211 and insurance evaluations. Video camera inspections are performed at an extra charge to a Level I inspection.
Chimney cap and spark arrestor
Reasons for caps: Helps prevent fires due to escaping embers; helps to prevent rain from entering flue which will deteriorate the flue liner, mortar joints and will help prevent the damper from rusting; helps prevent critters from entering the home through the flue. Caps will also help to prevent downdrafts.
Chimney crown repair and resurfacing
Cracks in the crown can create deterioration and ultimately masonry maintenance nightmares later on if not addressed.
Prefab firebox refractory panels
Replace cracked and deteriorated panels in pre-fab systems.
Wind-directional caps
Helps prevent downdrafts from occurring.
Top-Sealing dampers
Installation of top-sealing dampers that prevent bees from inhabiting chimney. Also prevents loss of heat from the home.
Log lighters
Installation of log lighters to aid in fire starting.
Heat Shields/Heat reflectors
Protects the backwall of firebox and reduces the amount of heat to the backwall by about one third, thereby extending the life of the firebox.
Smoke Guards
Lowers the top of the firebox opening which may help prevent smoking problems.
